db symmetry has announced the acquisition of a 50-acre site in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire capable of delivering over 1,000,000 sq ft of logistics space and creating around 1,250 jobs.
The site which is located off Pegasus Drive and has outline planning consent for B8 use, forms phase six of the successful Stratton Business Park and is located adjacent to phase five, owned by Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC). In March this year CBC completed new infrastructure works including a new access road, roundabout and services to both of these latest phases and have welcomed a number of new occupiers to their site.
The Park itself is located 600 metres from the A1, two miles to the south east of Biggleswade, 11 miles south east of Bedford and only 29 miles north of the M25. Originally developed in the early 1990’s the Park has become a well-established employment location with major occupiers including Liebherr Cranes, Bibby Distribution, Jordans Dorset Ryvita, Kramp among others.

This acquisition comes after the developer announced it had committed to 800,000 sq ft of speculative development across four sites in England: Swindon; Middlewich; Banbury and Bicester. According to research undertaken by Savills this equates to 21% of the total 3.8million sq ft of speculative development set to be delivered in the UK this year.
Christian continued: “We are continuing to increase our landbank for development across the UK, working closely with landowners, local authorities and occupiers to create large scale logistics hubs. This activity has been supported by the ongoing growth of our team. With the site now acquired we’ll be submitting a detailed application in the forthcoming months.”
