Cowgills business and advisory firm has expanded its tax team with a number of new hires.

Paul Cresswell joins from accountancy firm Azets as a Corporate Tax Manager, Antony Seddon has joined as a Trust Assistant Tax Manager, following a similar role at tax advisory firm Blick Rothenberg and Graham Bevan joins from investment company Rathbones as Tax Manager.

The latest appointments follow the arrival of Tax Director Sarah Salton earlier this year and Jason Gauthier who has joined as a Senior Tax Transactions Advisor from EY, as well as a number of strategic hires across the R&D, Trusts and Corporation Tax teams. A series of internal promotions have further enhanced Cowgills tax service offering to clients.

Commenting on the new appointments, Lisa said: “Our ethos has always been to deliver the best service that we can for our clients, and these most recent hires allow us to continue that work.

“They join at a really exciting time, just off the back of winning the prestigious Tolley’s Best Regional Tax Firm award, and we’re looking forward to achieving even greater success with them on-board.”

The last 12 months have been an extraordinary year of acceleration and achievement for Cowgills tax team, which has expanded from 14 to 24 people, led by three partners, supporting 55 new clients in the last six months alone.

Lisa Wilson continued: “Our department offers an increasingly wide range of services, from advice for individuals such as trusts and wealth planning to corporate services such as restructuring, R&D, M&A and VAT, which allows us to give a full-service offering to our clients. Bringing highly experience advisors into the business ensures that our clients continue to receive the best advice and the highest possible level of support.”

The appointments come just months after Cowgills took 1,400 sq ft on the second floor of Bruntwood’s Grade II listed Cotton Exchange in Liverpool, as well as taking 3,700 sq ft of space on the first floor of the Annex building in Manchester city centre, following a period of extensive growth.

Today Cowgills has 230 employees with 21 partners and continues to attract the region’s brightest talent with its compelling offer of exceptional benefits, flexibility, and professional opportunity.
